Anaheim Stand Up Rally at Angel Stadium

Nearly 1200 citizens of Orange County gathered on Saturday October 25, in the parking lot at Angel Stadium under the iconic Big A and were presented with inspiring calls to action to preserve religious freedom in the United States of America by over 20 speakers and vocalists, two live bands, 20 information booths and 10 food trucks!
The event got off to a roaring start as Birth Choice Founder and CEO Kathleen Eaton arrived via patriotic Harley Davidson Motorcycle with its distinctive growl. She then enthusiastically bounded to the stage where she was joined by vocalist Clare Francis Petersen to sing the National Anthem and lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Deacon Dennis Zaun of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Community offered the invocation and was followed by speaker after speaker who each presented their case for opposing the US Health and Human Services Mandate that requires all employers, regardless of their religious beliefs to the contrary, be forced to pay for insurance coverage which includes prescription drugs which induce abortion, cause sterilization or act as contraceptives.
The speakers included representatives from many faith traditions, ethnic origins, socioeconomic backgrounds, professions, businesses, and trades. One common thread though was their unity in understanding the threat to religious freedom represented in this mandate.
This rally was organized locally by United 4 Religious Freedom, and was one of 140 rallies which took place on Saturday, October 20, across the entire nation.
The national organizers of Stand Up for Religious Freedom called for the first Stand Up Rally to take place on Friday March 23 of this year. That day nearly 100 citizen activists gathered at the corner of Harbor Blvd. and Katella , to express their opposition. A second series of rallies was held on Friday June 8, and that day the Orange County Rally was staged in the Plaza of the Flags at the Civic Center in downtown Santa Ana. In all, over 400 rallies have take place representing over 100,000 citizen activists united in opposition to this unjust mandate.
The rally closed with the final benediction which was led by Rabbi Isaac Jeret who in his preceding comments proclaimed “This Mandate is coercive and unjust. This is not a conservative issue. It is not a liberal issue. This is an American Issue! If the government can tell people of faith how they can and cannot act, then there is no limits on their power to force us to do anything”.
