STAND UP FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Prayer and Patriotism at Quad Cities Rally

Stand Up DavenportWe in the Quad Cities are in a unique area along the Mississippi River that includes both Iowa and Illinois.

During our Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally this past Saturday, we were happy to hear read the guest editorial from Bishop Jenky that appeared in our local paper the morning of the Rally.

Rev. Jerry Logan continued that thread when he made his remarks after leading the opening prayer. Rand Wonio read excerpts from the Declaration and the First Amendment. He commented for a minute on the importance of that document.

Rev. Chris Young reminded us how important the election is and what is at stake for Catholics and others who cherish our freedom of religion. Close to 100 people joined Deacon Murphy and the St. Joseph’s prayer group in praying the rosary. We were happy to have Patti Schmidt back to lead the singing.

Thank you to our faithful Rally participants. Thanks be to God for our great country. God bless America!
