Day 2: Interfaith Novena to Stop the HHS Mandate
Posted by Eric Scheidler (May 31, 2012 at 5:45 am)
Prayer is the foundation of all our efforts to fight President Obama’s HHS Mandate, which forces all employer health plans to provide free contraception, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs, without regard to objections of conscience.
And so I invite all to join in praying a “Novena to Reverse the HHS Mandate” in the days leading up to the big Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom. Here is the Novena for Day 2:
Novena to Reverse HHS Mandate: Day 2
Lord Jesus Christ,
You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
You are the ruler of every nation
and You call all nations to obey Your law,
which is higher than any human law.
Lord Jesus, we lift up to You today
all who serve in public office.
We pray, Lord, for our President
and for the thousands of people who serve in his administration.
We pray that You enlighten and guide them,
and free them from the deception of evil.
Give them a new respect for human life, for freedom of conscience,
and for the rights of Your people.
We pray that Your people may be free from all unjust laws and mandates
and may always raise their voices
on behalf of human rights.
We ask this of You who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
Catholics and all Christian believers must stand together against Obamacare. I remember when I
received the sacrament of Confirmation and we were
told we were now “Christian Soldiers”. It is time
for us to stand and defend our faith, our right to practice our religion, our right to respect life and our right to oppose any government mandate which would require us to fund or otherwise support programs and
practices which are morally reprehensible.

No offense Eric, but seems to me that stopping the HHS mandate is asking for too little. As long as Obama’s healthcare law stands, any dictator can order anything. How about praying this law is ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court? And that we elect lawmakers who will repeal it with a veto-proof majority?

Thank you Eric, and everyone for joining this fight. We can win. Look up the war of the Vondee, and see thev new movie (true storey) For Greater Glory. Just two fantastic examples of faith in action. Not without pain will victory come, but it will come if it is for God.

Hi Dorothy, priestforlife.org has all days of Novena Prayers. Lets make copies of flyers, about the June 8th Rally, we physically have to do it, lets stand in corners and give it out. Unless we do the ridiculous God will not do the impossible.
God bless America

“If my people who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14. I too believe that God is no respecter of person, and will intervene to protect HIS people from evil, or will give us the strength to carry this load. See you at the rally.

It is such hubris to assume that all people who serve in his (Obama) administration need to be given “a new respect for human life, for freedom of conscience, and for the rights of Your people.”
Freedom of Religion does not include curtailing other peoples freedom to exercise their conscience differently that you. Jesus himself said, “If they right hand offend thee cut it off.” That is a conditional statement. He is not saying to cut off your hand, he is saying cut from your own life that which offends you. It does not say to cut out of other people’s lives what offend you.
What this group is asking is to make unequal classes of coverage for workers in regards to health care. If the catholic Church does not want to pay up, they can stop hiring people. It is that simple. Then you will not be offended. The catholic Church has plenty of members who can volunteer, right?
