Sebelius Didn’t Do Her Homework When Drafting HHS Mandate

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius made some rather candid admissions at an April 26 Congressional hearing.
Before she promulgated the HHS Mandate, did she consult Supreme Court decisions regarding religious liberty?
No.
Did she have a legal memo prepared?
Again, no.
Check out the exchange between Sebelius and Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) at yesterday’s hearing:
It was the best cross examination of Sebelius I have ever seen. A great job was done by Congressman Gowdy.

Clearly, Ms. Sebelius was not prepared for the likes of Congressman Gowdy. His questioning, and her inept responses, show a complete lack of concern for consitutional law on the part of the Dept. of HHS. You can read from her demeanor that she couldn’t wait until his time was up. Quite a difference from her usual arrogance while in front of a microphone. Kudos, Congressman!
