Just like the March and June Stand Up for Religious Freedom rallies, the October Stand Up Rally has garnered significant news coverage in markets large and small. Hundreds of stories show up on a search of Google News.
Here are a few examples that illustrate how our carefully crafted media strategy has played out both nationally and locally:
- Should religions freedom be a big concern at the polls?—Saturday’s Stand Up Rally inspired this piece on Fox News piece about the religious freedom issue in this year’s election, including a lengthy discussion of the HHS Mandate and why it should matter to voters.
- Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom Reaches Abilene—The local CBS affiliate covered the Rally in Abilene, Texas, with great interviews, tying this local event into the big, nationwide campaign.
- Anti-Obamacare Rally Planned for Saturday—Despite the inaccurate title, this advance story in the Old Northeast-Downtown St. Pete Patch was just one of many local online media outlets that are becoming a viable alternative to traditional media outlets.
- Rally: Help others so government doesn’t get involved—This story in the Salem, Oregon, Catholic Sentinel highlights the value of religious media, who are often more willing to cover events like the Stand Up Rally and address issues mainstream media avoid.
- Stand Up for Religious Freedom Facebook page—Social media must be part of any effective media strategy, and in this case, Facebook becomes part of the story, with “likes” by women outnumbering men by more than two to one. So much for the “War on Women”!
- “Stand Up for Religious Freedom” videos—As of this writing, there are pages of videos from across the country, boasting speeches from some of the biggest names in the pro-life movement.
