STAND UP FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

“Isn’t It Amazing That We Have to Meet This Way at All?”

Howell, Mchigan:  Over 500 people joined together to protest the unconstitutional HHS mandate and Stand Up For Religious Freedom on Friday, June 8.

The unique gathering of speakers, doctors, lawyers, insurance professionals, and religious leaders from numerous denominations shared how the HHS mandate will infringe upon freedom.

Insurance professional Cynthia Dudek stated “There is a great deal at stake.  Insurance is a “contract” and the government is in essence telling us we do not have the freedom to contract. The government is now establishing the Terms and Conditions under which we must abide, or face the penalties and consequences, of rejecting the demands of the current ruling regime.”

Dr. Reverend Richard Alberta, pastor of Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church,  told of his joy at standing with his Catholic brothers and sisters as we work together to stop the unconstitutional mandate that takes away an individual’s right to conscience and religion as the crowd roared its approval.

Dr. Rev. Del Belcher, opened with a startling reminder “Isn’t it amazing that we have  to meet in this way at all? To affirm our rights and religious freedoms?  How is it that we find ourselves having to reclaim the freedoms that the citizens of the United States have always enjoyed? How have we gotten here?”

He went on to remind us that it is not the government that produces our rights and freedoms, not is it the government’s role, rather it is the God given role to protect our freedom.  These rights are given to us by God himself.

Those at the rally were inspired, motivated and have vowed to continue to stand up for our freedoms for our generation and the next.

The Livingston County Press & Argus reported about the rally.  The coverage speaks of at least 200 attending the rally – by that they mean over 500.  Read the article here.

Guess who showed up at the Madison, WI, Stand Up For Religious Freedom rally?
The staff of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, including both co-Presidents, Annie Laurie Gaylor and Dan Barker.
Dan Barker shouted rude things at children while they were praying.
