Over 1,000 Rally at the Statehouse in Trenton, NJ for Religious Freedom

Over 1,000 people turned out for the Trenton, NJ StandUp Rally on June 8. This was the second StandUp rally hosted by New Jersey Right to Life.
The Diocese of Trenton held a mass to Stand Up for Religious Freedom celebrated by Bishop David M. O’Connell. C.M. at the Cathedral of St. Mary the Assumption in Trenton before the Rally. Attendees processed to the Rally immediately following the Mass. Like the March 23 rally, it was a glorious day!
Rev. Joseph Meagher from the ArchDiocese of Newark opened the rally with a prayer. Keaton Douglas and Steve Salerno provided the music to an enthusiastic throng of people.
Our speakers included David Yerushalmi, Co-Founder of and Senior Counsel for the American Freedom Law Center, Jeannie Monahan, Director of the Center for Human Dignity at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C., Rev. Clenard Childress, Pastor of New Cavalry Church and Founder of Blackgenocide.org, Fr. Tom Ryan, Pastor of Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville, Rebecca Purdy, Graduate Student at the College of NJ and Student for Life Member, Susan Friedel, Allied Attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund, Fr. Tim Christy, Pastor of St. Magdalen’s Church, Flemington, NJ, Marie Tasy, Executive Director of New Jersey Right to Life, Rev. Gregory Miller, Pastor of Covenant Chapel Reformed Church, Basking Ridge, NJ, Jennifer Ruggiero, Respect Life Director for the Diocese of Metuchen, Jim Manfredonia, Co-Founder and President of Domestic Church Media, Rev. Sheila Riley, Director of the Good News Crisis Pregnancy Center, Perth Amboy, NJ, Theresa Strenga, RN and Fertility Care Practitioner, Christopher Bell, Co-Founder of Good Counsel Homes in NY and NJ, Lori Barnaby, Interventional Radiologist.
It was so awesome to see clergy representing Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish faiths stand united to fight this mandate. I want to thank Eric and Monica and everyone responsible for coordinating these rallies. We are proud to stand with you to fight this attack on religious freedom!
