Seattle Rally Deemed an Overwhelming Success!

Posted by Patricia Ullman (June 8, 2012 at 9:36 pm)

In spite of threats of rain and thunder storms, Seattle rally organizers greeted more than 350 wonderful attendees at today’s event.

Opening ceremonies began with an introduction of the event’s emcee, Helen Nguyen. Nguyen, the daughter of Vietnamese parents who escaped VietNam on rickety boats and made their way to America, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies and her Master’s degree in Social Work, both degrrees from the University of Washington. Helen introduced Fr. Jim Northrop of St. Brendan Catholic Church (Bothell, WA) who gave the invocation.

After Fr. Northrop’s blessing, 12-year old vocalist, Allie Johnson, sang an inspirational rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.

Our speakers were super-motivating and mega-inspirational. Speakers included:

  • Dr. Jay Richards of the Discovery Institute
  • Representative Mark Miloscia (D-30th), member of the Washington State Legislature and 2012 candidate for WA State Auditor
  • Pastor Joe Fuiten, of Cedar Park Church, a faith community with many value-based, community-based ministries
  • Fr. Kurt Nagel, pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church (Kirkland, WA)
  • Mr. Shahram Haiden, 2012 WA State gubernatorial candidate
  • Dino Rossi, former State Senator and 2008 candidate for US Senate
  • Dr. Tom Curran, Executive Director of My Catholic Faith and host of “Sound Insights” on 1050AM KBLE (Catholic) Radio
  • Patricia Ullman, captain of the Seattle rally;
  • Cyndie Ulrich, Seattle rally director of communications.
  • At the close of the rally, attendees reported they were “fired up” and would be following the rally’s call-to-action including contacting the White House with their opinions regarding Obama’s attack on the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

After multiple news releases sent over the last two week and a media alert sent this morning to over 20 Puget Sound news agencies, we had 4 news agencies attend the rally – Seattle’s NBC, CBS and ABC TV affilliates and a reporter from a Seattle news radio station.

KUDO’S and CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERY RALLY TEAM ACROSS THE COUNTRY. GREAT WORK WAS ACCOMPLISHED!

Thank you THANK YOU to all the fantastic speakers today!!! I was so impressed by all of you – and especially Patrica Ulman’s speech – you ROCKED us out!

The gift of songs by Allie and Father Northrop – oh goodness… are we blessed or what?

I so appreciated all the time, effort and energy that went into today’s rally.

To use a FB quote “I can see November from Wisconsin!” and now Seattle!

The speakers were all extraordinary, from Jay Richards to Dino Rossi to Tom Curran and those in between. Spoken with un-abashed fervor and zeal, the message was clear and un-apoligetic, “we are a Christian People” who will stand up for our constitutional rights of Religious Freedom and Liberty.

Praying God’s Blessing for all in attendance to carry the message!
      God Bless America!
