Hobby Lobby Ruling Coming Soon—Rally and Tweet Storm This Thursday

Posted by Matt Yonke (June 24, 2014 at 2:32 pm)

This week the United States Supreme Court will hand down its ruling in the Hobby Lobby case, which combines both the Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood v. Sebelius cases challenging Obama’s HHS Mandate.

This will be the biggest ruling yet in a case challenging the HHS Mandate, and we need to come out in force to show our zeal to protect our religious freedoms.

A rally will be held on the steps of the Supreme Court this Thursday at 9 a.m., when the ruling could come down. If you’re in the Washington DC area, please join the rally and spread the word to your friends and family! Get all the details right here.

If you can’t join the rally in person, join in the Tweet Storm on Thursday morning using the hashtags #womenincontrol and #religiousfreedom.

Here are some sample tweets you can use Thursday morning:

Getting free birth control doesn’t equal equality with men #womenincontrol #religiousfreedom #scotus

If I want birth control, I will put on my big girl pants and go get it. My boss doesn’t have to provide it for free #womenincontrol #scotus

Day 6: Interfaith Novena to Stop the HHS Mandate

Posted by Matt Yonke (March 22, 2014 at 10:58 am)

Sermon on the MountWe’re now in the final days running up to the Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood cases coming before the Supreme Court.

Please join me in praying this special “Novena to Reverse the HHS Mandate,” now on day 6. If you’ve missed the previous 5 days of this 9-day prayer sequence, go ahead an join in now—remember the workers in the vinyard!

Scroll down for the previous days’ prayers, or find them listed here.

Novena to Reverse HHS Mandate: Day 6

Father, You unite the human family
through the blood of Your Son Jesus Christ
and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

At this time of need,
when Your Church and all Your people
are called to stand firm against injustices
inflicted on us from our government,
we ask You to strengthen us in the bond of unity.

Strengthen the unity of Your Church,
that none of Your faithful may be on the sidelines,
but that everyone may be active in this battle.

Give Church leaders the grace to discern
the many varieties of the working of Your Spirit
that they may fan into flame the gifts that the Spirit
bestows freely on Your people.

And give us the wisdom to know
that no group has a monopoly on the defense of life and freedom.
May we work in an ecumenical and inter-religious spirit
and welcome the efforts of all people of good will
who believe in freedom of religion and conscience.

We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Stand Up Coalition to Rally at Supreme Court March 25 for HUGE Hobby Lobby Case

Posted by Matt Yonke (March 14, 2014 at 4:53 pm)

On March 25, the US Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the historic Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood v. Sebelius cases which challenge the Obama Administration’s HHS Mandate, and the Stand Up Rally Coalition will be there.

These two cases could overturn Obama’s HHS Mandate—the very victory we’ve been seeking since 2012!

The Green family, owners of Hobby Lobby, and the Hahn family, owners of Conestoga Wood Specialties, are standing for all of us as they defend religious freedom by challenging the HHS Mandate in court. And now we must stand up with them as their cases are brought before the Supreme Court.

Here are 3 ways you can help:

1. Join us at the Supreme Court on March 25.

Join us for a prayer vigil and rally at the Supreme Court (Map) from 9:30 to 12:00 p.m. on March 25. Look for the huge “Stand Up for Religious Freedom” banner. We will provide signs, or you can make your own to welcome the Greens and the Hahns as they enter the Supreme Court. [Continue reading ...]

Over 140 Cities to Rally for Religious Freedom Oct. 20

Posted by John Jansen (October 15, 2012 at 2:56 pm)

Rally CitiesThe next Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally is only five days away, and today our list of cities has topped 140!

More than 125,000 people attended the March 23 and June 8 Rallies, and the number of cities on board for October 20 indicates that the Stand Up for Religious Freedom campaign shows no signs of weakening.

On the contrary, opposition among the American people to the HHS Mandate’s assault on religious freedom is intense—and getting stronger!

From Miami, Florida to Seattle, Washington and all the way out to Honolulu, Hawaii the American people are sending a message that we will not stand idly by while the federal government forces all employer health plans to provide free contraceptives, sterilizations, and abortion-inducing drugs, regardless of any moral or religious objections.

Next Stand Up Rally: Saturday, October 20!

Posted by Matt Yonke (August 31, 2012 at 1:26 pm)

Facebook Cover PhotoWith the November elections looming, the time has come to double down in the fight for religious freedom.

That’s why the Stand Up for Religious Freedom Coalition is calling for a third nationwide Stand Up Rally to take place on Saturday, October 20.

The Supreme Court decision on the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) in June made it clear that the only way to stop this pernicious attack on our freedom of religion will be electoral change. With that in mind, the October Rally will aim to call the faithful to live their faith, not just in church, but in every part of their lives.

With over 80 cities on board and more being added every day, the October 20 Rally is expected to be a historic success.

Find a Rally near you at the Rally Info and Locations page. Don’t see a Rally in your area? Contact the national leadership team to find out how you can get one going.

The die is cast. Now it’s time for each of us to do our part to ensure that religious freedom doesn’t become a part of America’s past. Join us as we Stand Up for Religious Freedom nationwide on October 20.

NOTE: Click the image at the top of this post for a Facebook cover photo you can use on your page to promote the Rally!
