STAND UP FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Catholic Bishops to Speak at Rally Sites

Posted by Matt Yonke (February 24, 2012 at 10:51 pm)

BishopsThe March 23 Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom was called in response to the Catholic bishops’ call for the laity to stand up against Obama’s nefarious HHS Mandate. Laity of all faiths—not just Catholics—have heeded their call and now over 60 cities are confirmed for this nationwide effort.

And now we’re pleased to see those very Catholic bishops are joining the Rally themselves! Three bishops have signed on so far. Washington DC auxiliary Bishop Barry Knestout (left) is confirmed for the Germantown, Maryland rally, Bishop Michael Byrnes will attend in Detroit (center) and Bishop Cirilo Flores (right) will attend in San Diego.

With all 181 US Catholic bishops vocally opposing the HHS Mandate—including a strong new statement [PDF] from New York’s Cardinal Timothy Dolan—we hope to see more and more of religious leaders of all faiths joining the Stand Up Rally on March 23.

Update 3/16: Unfortunately, Bishop Barry Knestout had a schedule conflict and will not be attending the Germantown Rally. However, in the interrim several other bishops have been enlisted to speak at Rallies across the country. Updated list coming soon!

Obama and the Democrats will just scoff at this but I will go anyway. It is in defense of God’s voice, conscience and in opposition against an abusive government. Because of Obama, America has fallen in its lowest moral level. It is time to stand up for God and all that is good and truthful.

    Each rally needs a bishop
praying more will join these three
each rally should have a pledge:
    I will vote pro-life
I will contact all like-minded people and make sure they vote pro-life
    I will not use contraception
    I will not get sterilized
I will not take abortion drugs or have abortion surgery
I will be a virgin from now to my wedding night
    I will welcome children

Be aware, posting here or on the associated website is only if you agree. Any dissent will be met with blocking or erasing. Wow, some freedom, hey.

I promise to pray for the success of this most urgently needed nationwide rally.

Am publishing your information in this Sunday’s edition of my parish bulletin, and will be most honored to be on hand for the rally IN PERSON.

Sincerest thanks to: Bishop Barry Knestout, Bishop Michael Byrnes (of nearby Detroit, MI)and Bishop Cirilo Flores for their strong leadership in defense of conscience rights and religious liberty. “God grant them many blessed years!”

Prayerfully, in the Heart of Christ the Good Shepherd,
    Fr. Joseph Marquis, Pastor

    Father Joseph —

So glad to have a Byzantine Catholic priest involved! Both my assistant Matt Yonke and me — the guys responsible for this website — are Romanian Rite Catholics. We attend St George Church in Aurora, Illinois.

I appreciate your point of view, as all Americans should do. Unfortunately I do not agree with your facts-opinions. Confusing these two only serve to misinform your readers. The administrations plan, while not perfect,is a great step forward for all Americans, including all Christians. As we all know[see how easy it is to combine fact with opinion], a single payer plan would protect all Americans. I pray for the day when “doing onto others” is taken seriously. thank you.
