Ultra-Liberal Athens, Georgia Produces 300 Protesters

Posted by Heather Gardner (June 9, 2012 at 11:35 pm)

A crowd of 300 gathers to STAND UP in Athens, Georgia

Athens, Georgia is well known by its residents as a hub of liberal politics where anything with so much as a right-wing stripe is summarily dismissed. Yet, this hotbed of liberal ideology–the home of Georgia’s flagship university–still managed to produce 300 protesters for Friday’s Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally.

This level of attendance represents a 50 percent increase over the attendance at the March 23 Stand Up Rally in Athens. In a community where the prevailing viewpoint is left-leaning, to say the least, opposition to this administration’s obstruction of religious liberty is growing. [Continue reading …]

Pottstown, PA, Team of Love, showed with 125 beautiful souls, to stand up for our First Amendment, Religious Freedom.

Yes, Mr. John Potts, 1761 founder of Pottstown, friend of General George Washington, and landlord of the General’s Valley Forge Headquarters, would have been proud of our stand.

We were fortunate to conduct the rally at the lot of the 1725 Roller Mills building, with the 1925 Reading Railroad next door, and still in use, with train whistles filling the air, throughout the rally. [Continue reading …]

Prayer Rally for Religious Freedom in Colorado Springs

Posted by Bill Carmody (June 9, 2012 at 11:15 pm)

A prayer rally for religious freedom was held in Colorado Springs on June 8, 2012.  Approximately 80-100 participants of all stripes (Catholics, Protestants, Jewish, and even an Atheist) prayed for an hour in front of the Offices of Senator Bill Bennett (D) of Colorado.

A Patriotic rosary was prayed with those participants not Catholic either just standing silently with us or praying silently themselves.  The rosary included patriotic songs between decades and all helped sing them.

A local affiliate of ABC news covered the event and it made the 6:00 PM evening broadcast.  The event was well received and hopefully will be a push off point for larger rallies down the road.

Second Rally in Richland, WA

Posted by Judy Schultz (June 9, 2012 at 1:19 pm)

Much more difficult to do this rally due to finding out pastors not supporting this with allowing bulletin announcements. They implied that the bishops are not approving or disapproving this rally.

However, 166 did show up in spite of negativity.

While singing America the Beautiful we had a miraculous blue, white and red stripe form in the sky. It was there for a goodly time and then a light sprinkle of rain and then it went away. [Continue reading …]

Greensburg, PA Rally

Posted by Tom Venditti (June 9, 2012 at 12:36 pm)

To God be the glory, our first rally in Greensburg , Pa. brought out 150 people at the courthouse despite our diocese going out of its way to let everyone know they were in no way supporting the rally. The spokesperson from Catholic Charities also backed out the dat before.

There is a lot of fear that is crippling the believers here and we need everyone’s prayers to see this obstacle removed before the next rally. Special thanks to Father Timothy Kruthaupt for going against the tide and presenting an amazing address on religious liberty.

Also thanks to Reverend Kovaks (United Church of Christ), Shari Lewis, (Westmoreland County Right To Life), Representative Krieger (House Of Representatives). The feedback we received was excellent from everyone in attendance. Thank you for encouraging us to do it.

Freedom of Conscience Rally Today

Posted by Tony May (June 9, 2012 at 12:28 pm)

65 people attended yesterday’s first Cedar Rapids rally for Religious Freedom of Conscience Protection.

From 12 to 1 PM people from the surrounding area gathered at Collins Road and Council Street near Noelridge Park for support to defend the religious freedom of conscience we carry.

The reason we gathered is the attack from the government regarding the Health and Human Services mandate, where Catholics and anyone of faith would be asked to supply contraceptive, tubal ligations and abortion drugs like the morning after pill in their health plans. This poses a big problem for Catholic and other Christian employers who are required to supply medical insurance for their employees.

250 Attend Stevens Point Stand Up For Religious Freedom Rally

Posted by JenDunnett (June 9, 2012 at 11:13 am)

Today in Stevens Point, WI around 11:30am attendees for the Stand Up For Religious Freedom Rally started arriving and they kept coming.

The rally team was ready to hand out signs, fact sheets, buttons, American flags, red, white & blue balloons.

The excitement was in the air. At Noon sharp we started with opening prayer by Father Greg Bohren and he also read a letter from Bishop Callahan of the Diocese of La Crosse.

After Father Bohren, Phil Lawson, Director of Catechesis and Evangelization at St Peter’s Church talked about those who have done extraordinary things to defend their religious freedoms. Peggy Hamill, State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin followed Phil who spoke on the history that brought us to the HHS Mandate.
